Contingent liabilities declined by €2.8 billion as of June 30, 2026, compared with December 31, 2025, primarily due to the conclusion of arbitration proceedings involving BASF. As the German Federal Court of Justice (BGH) rejected BASF’s appeal and BASF did not, to our knowledge, take further legal action, the basis of this contingent liability no longer applied.
